Welcome to "The Caddy Carousel"

Goldie Bounce Golf Sunday July 24th Show!   The hottest trend on the PGA Tour  seems to be "The Caddy Carousel!"  To name few players who've parted ways with their besties recently ~ Martin Kaymer, Darren Clarke, Dustin Johnson, Paul Casey, Adam Scott, Camilo Villegas, Sean O'Hair, Kris Blanks and most notably this past week Tiger Woods.  With so many top players switching up their caddies I called  Noah Zelnick  (PGA Tour Player Michael Bradley's caddie)  for his "professional perspective" regarding the situation.  Noah was on his way to the Greenbriar Classic in West Virginia to caddie for his boo Michael Bradley but he took the time to fill me in a bit and added  "A caddy with a good set of eyes is as important if not more important than a really good teacher."  As for Tiger's new caddie ~ he sited Camilo Villages' former looper and Nationwide Tour Player Brett Waldman as the best man for the job.  OK.

 

And the trend continues ~ after my show aired I noticed last nite that caddy Kip Henley (PGA Tour player Brian Gay) announced via Twitter  "Me and BG r dun. Please don't ask questions. I ain't answering them.  I hope we remain close. I love his family and I wil mis  bein the Gay caddy.

PGA's Stan Utley ~ The Art of the Swing

PGA Tour Professional Stan Utley's a man wearing many hats ~ player, instructor, writer, speaker, husband, father and the list goes on!  Stan's home course is The Greyhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ.  And when he's not teaching clinics there he's on the road promoting his many books and charity work.  In his newest book The Art of the Swing ~ which hit the book shelves a few weeks back ~ Stan's focus' on tapping into his student's creativity, imagination and feel thus unearthing their full potential.  Stan partners with Golf Digest writer Matthew Rudy to create a fabulous multi-dimensional book!  The pair incorporates sequenced photos with new Smartphone technology ~ Microsoft Tags ~ embedded into pages of the book which link to over 25 HD 90 sec. instructional videos on YouTube.  Stan told me that this new technology "addresses people who learn differently ~ so you have certain people they need to feel things, certain people can read it and get it and certain people can see it and get it."  You can follow Stan on Twitter as well at www.twitter.com/stanutley

Goldie Bounce Golf  Sunday June 5th “Ask a Pro” on 95.9 WATD with host Liza Churchill.  "Ask a Pro" features the best and brightest New England PGA Professionals!  My guest is Susan Bond, Head Golf Professional at The Weekapaug Golf Club in Westerly, Rhode Island.   Extremely active within the New England Chapter of the PGA of America, Susan told me that “giving back to the game is what it’s all about ~ paying it forward.”  She sure puts her money where her mouth is ~ having participated in a run from Westerly to Charlestown ~ carrying the torch to the University of Rhode Island for the RI Special Olympics Kickoff Ceremonies shortly before our interview! Need I say more?
